Chinese Consulate General, Mr. Wang Huagen Prodi attended the Grand Launching of Widya Kartika University’s (Uwika) Chinese Education Department (S1). In his speech, he appreciated the success of the existing campus in Jalan Sutorejo Prima Utara II / 1, Surabaya was the persistent effort by the birth of the study program. “I congratulate and appreciate the opening of the Chinese education Department (S1) in Widya Kartika University,” delivered by a translator.
According to him, the cooperation between Indonesia and China in terms of education exchange should be continued more and more. Hopefully, it can improve the quality of education between the two countries. Wang emphasized that today, many universities in China also teach Indonesian language. “In fact, there are eight universities that are concerned to learn that. And vice versa, there are more Indonesians who learn Chinese, “he said.
With such conditions, Wang hopes, the partnership between the two countries could be expanded. Until finally, in other sectors, such as industry and technology, Indonesia and China can build a more intense cooperation.
During the occasion, Uwika’s Rector Dr. Ir. Gembong Baskoro, M.Sc., gave the badge of Widya Kartika Jasa Cendekia Utama to Chinese Consul, Mr. Wang Huagen. It was an expression of Uwika’s appreciation for the support of the Consulate General of China in education.
Not to forget, the Rector expressed gratitude for the appreciation given. According to him, the birth of the Chinese Education Department (S1) cannot be separated from the support of various parties. “The effort that has been made during the past five years can be enjoyed and felt now,” he said.
